Q. HOW DO I FIND AND PURCHASE A DOWNLOAD OR PRINT?
A. Find the image you wish to download or have printed by browsing through the collections or by typing a subject into the Search box. Clicking on an image will enlarge it. To purchase tick on the Add to Cart button and either continue to shop or go to the Checkout page. Where appropriate VAT and delivery charges will added during the checkout process.

Q. HOW DO I PURCHASE A HIGH RES IMAGE DOWNLOAD
A. Simply go to ScotPhoto Downloads find the image you want, add to the cart, pay and download it. There is no need to Register for an account but if you do register you will find it easier to order in the future and you can opt to receive our newsletters.
Q. HOW DO I REGISTER?
A. Click on the register link on the main page to fill in a simple form. The system is automatic and should only take a couple of minutes.
Q. WHAT IS A RIGHTS MANAGED IMAGE LICENCE?
A. The image can only be used once unless otherwise specified and in some circumstances we may require a declaration of intended use.
Q. HOW DO I PAY?
A. We accept credit and debit cards including visa, mastercard, maestro, solo and jcb. Registered users can opt for a billing account. If you need to pay by an alternative means please contact us via the enquiry form.
Q. VAT
A. VAT is added at the Checkout to UK orders @20%.
Q. HOW DO I MODIFY/CANCEL MY ORDER AFTER I HAVE ARRIVED AT CHECKOUT?
A. Click on return to Basket then choose from the options to “Continue Shopping” or change the quantity and click “Save Changes” or click the “X” to remove an item from the basket.
Q. CAN I USE THE IMAGE LICENSE FOR MORE THAN PURPOSE?
A. No, you are purchasing this image for a one-time use as specified, you must therefore purchase a new license for another use.
Q. HOW DO I DOWNLOAD AN IMAGE ONCE PURCHASED?
A. A download link will appear. Click the link. If you don’t specify a destination folder the file will automatically download to the ‘downloads’ folder on your computer.
Q. DO I NEED TO GIVE A PHOTO-CREDIT WHEN THE IMAGES IS USED?
A. Yes where possible we'd very much appreciate a photo-credit but it's not mandatory. Please credit: www.dennishardley.com
Q. WHAT IS A LIGHTBOX?
A. A lightbox is a useful way to compile images when searching through the categories, similar to putting the images to one-side in order to view at a later date.
Q. I CAN’T FIND THE IMAGE I’M LOOKING FOR?
A. Not all our stock library is available as high res image downloads. New images are added regularly from our growing stock of over 20,000 current and historic images. For specific requests please feel free to contact us or Tel:01631 720434.
Q. WHAT ARE CONTACT SHEETS?
A. Click "select" next to several images on a gallery page and click "contact sheet" at the top of the page to view and print thumbnails of these images.
Q. CAN I COMBINE ORDERS?
A. You cannot combine orders using different registrations but the system will normally remember the contents of your basket after you have logged out. This should allow you to add to or modify your order on your next visit. This can be useful if you are composing a document over a period and haven't decided how many images you need.
Q. WHAT DO THE BUTTONS NEXT TO THE IMAGE DO?
A. "Enlarge file" - makes you cursor into a magnifying glass which you hover over the image to see more detail, (alternatively you can click on the image to see it in a large pop-up window.)
"Show black and white version" - does as it says. Useful for tonal comparisons in page layouts to assess how an image will match your design aims.
"Email file" - puts a small copy of the image in an email which you can send to yourself or a colleague. The image is sized to be useful for comping purposes and may be watermarked.
"Start slideshow" - opens a window to show all the images in the current gallery as a slideshow. You can adjust the speed at which the show runs.
Q. WHO ARE THIRDLIGHT?
A. Third Light Intelligent Media Server (IMS) is a Digital Asset Management company who provide the system which holds and distributes our images for downloading. They are accredited with Verisign for secure online payment transactions and you can view their registration when you reach the checkout page.

Q. HOW DO I PURCHASE A PRINT?
A. Click here to visit our print ordering site then search through categories using the search box or category links. Once you see an image you like view select the print size options you require.
Q. DO I NEED TO REGISTER?
A. There is no need to register, simply search through categories using the search box or category links. Once you see an image you like view the drop down box with print options and choose the print size you require. Screensaver has only one option.
Q. WHAT DO I GAIN IF I REGISTER?
A. If you choose to register you will find it easier to order in the future and you can opt to receive our newsletters.
Q. HOW DO I PAY?
A. Our preferred method is paypal. You can also use your paypal account to pay with credit and debit cards. If you need to pay by an alternative means please contact us via the enquiry form or send an email to info@dennishardley.com
Q. WHAT ARE THE DELIVERY CHARGES?
A. £3.50 (+VAT) for one item within the UK by First class Royal Mail. £8.50 for the rest of the world. Larger orders add £1 for each 3 items.

A. Return to the Shopping Cart and delete the item. (If you can't see the Cart link return to the Home page first.)

A. A lightbox is a useful way to compile images when searching through the categories, similar to putting the images to one side in order to view at a later date. If you are a Registered User your Lightboxes should be stored for your next visit - one of the advantages of registering.

Q. WHO PRINTS THE IMAGES?
A. Normally the prints are produced on our own high definition printers and despatched directly from Scotland to you.
Q. I DON'T LIVE IN THE UK. CAN I STILL BUY PRINTS FROM YOU?
A. Yes orders from outside the uk are welcome. Appropriate airmail delivery charges will be added at the checkout. For special requirements please contact us before ordering so we can advise you of any extra charges.
Q. I WOULD LIKE PRINTS IN A SIZE OR FORMAT NOT OFFERED ON THE SITE
A. Please contact us. We always try to accommodate our customers for special orders such as large canvas prints, greeting cards or images with added text. If you wish to buy an image to work with yourself please contact us or visit our Downloads site
Q. WHO ARE PHOTOSHELTER?
A. Photoshelter is the company which provides the system for viewing our print images. They are accredited with digicert for secure online payment.
